Head Coach Prince Matore has said his winning strategy is to focus on each game as it comes and that every game played, “is water under the bridge.”
The club with nine points is currently leading the Central Region.
However, it is only separated by four goals from second-placed Hard Rock FC, who also share similar points.
Matore has won two away games against Matobo FC and Bishopstone FC before winning against FC Platinum U19 in his first home game.
Going into the next encounter against Jame West, Matore has commended his charges for an impressive start but has also called for his team to remain focused.
“I am impressed by the team so far. They have started very well and they are working so hard, that is impressive,” he said of the three straight wins.
However, he said it’s still early in the campaign to start celebrating.
“It’s still very early in the campaign, and we are taking one game at a time. We have only played three games so far, so there is no room for complacency. We need to keep on working hard. What is important is to focus; we are focusing on each game as it comes. Every game played is water under the bridge; immediately after winning, the focus will be on the next match. We are not looking much at the log table, we are just focusing on the games we play, we collect something, we play and collect something, and see how it goes,” he said.
Turning to areas that need improvement-
“It’s still too early in the campaign, but what I can say is that everyone so far is putting in effort. What we need to do is to remain focused, continue working hard, and be determined in achieving our goals,” he said.
Matore said the team’s conversion rate comes as no surprise, as the players are putting in work, especially during training.
“What you are seeing the players doing on actual match days is what they will be doing in training, so it’s not a surprise for me if they score,” Matore said.
He commended the defenders for putting in a good work so far.
“The defenders are doing well. We have conceded one goal so far. However, we have more work to do, and our defenders must keep doing good, it will help the team win games,” he said.
